Energy has been a favorite rom for my Sensation for some time now. I am obsessed with themed roms especially ones with the color blue If your looking for the latest and greatest Rom for the HTC sensation, look no further. NRGZ28 on Xda-developers is hands down my favorite chef for a number of reasons. #1 reason is that his thread is constantly updated and he is always looking for new ways to improve his rom. Every update has been rock solid thus far and has been running smooth on my Sensation. With Energy you get the latest sense 3.5 and android 2.3.5 both of which haven’t even been rolled out yet for many devices including the Sensation.

NRG does a great job delivering both with his own brand of theming and customizations. The rom is fast, smooth, and great to look at. Another thing that makes this rom great is that it is compatible with many different add ons and other mods out there for example the HTC Amaze camera. I’ve also gotten the new quick launch and shortcuts to run. I must say though this rom is best out of the box. NRG’s work is amazing and I’m glad to have such a developer cooking for my device. Flash the rom, you won’t be disappointed

What I’m here to tell you is that I have found the ultimate mod for my HTC Sensation. Coredroid! I found Coredroid a few months ago and when I flashed it to my phone I was blown away. When I first started flashing roms I always looked for the most popular threads or whatever rom had the most users but after switching around a few times I found myself bored with the same old stockish look. These guys from Coredroid have it all. I was so surprised at not only the skin of the rom, but the speed and smoothness of it too. Coredroid has it all! You get an amazing rom with speed and functionality that rivals the roms that solely focus of those sort of things. The main thing for me tho is the skin or eye candy. Coredroid’s roms are simply beautiful.  Everything looks better, everything is modded. The icons, the keyboard, dialer, EVERYTHING!

As you can see this Rom looks amazing. I’ve tired many Rom’s in the xda forum but none look like this. For all you people out there with an HTC Sensation I suggest you try this Rom. You will not be disappointed. Im warning you tho. Once you do you will become…

Our smart phones are evolving faster then ever. The technology has dramatically improved over the last year. We now have dual core techology which is creating this rapid expansion of hardware  abilities, app development, and an overall better smart phone experience. Graphic processors or gpu’s are also improving substantially. It wasn’t that long ago where the only game you could play on your phone was snake. Now the graphics have improved so much that in comparison console graphics, many smart phones are up there with second generation systems like the old xbox or playstation 2.

Most basic low level users have no idea where the industry is heading. Its moving fast and the technology is improving everyday. As a techy person you cant expect people to understand how Kernels work, what a rom is, or what your phone’s radio does. As a high level user I would like the people with basic user ability to learn a few things. I certainly can’t expect everyone to be a modder or developer but if more people did a little bit of research and learned a few things it would benefit us all. Either way this rapid evolution will continue to happen. There’s a few options. You can get with it and reap the benefits or get left behind. Or you can go with something basic,simple, and boring like an iphone and watch droids eat you for breakfast.

For you fellow modders heres what I’m running….at the moment. Also still looking for someone that flashes as much  as I do so I can test and compare ROMS, kernels, ect with. I really love this ROM. It includes a dual core patch that forces both cores on your device to be on when the screen is on. When your screen is off the max freq is 392 (correct me if im wrong which is a great battery saver. It also makes the ROM blazing fast. There are some mods that really add to UI. Advanced power menu allows you to reboot the device in recovery without having to turn it off and hold the volume down key. Quick settings mod your status bar so you can adjust media volume and screen brightness without having to go a few extra clicks to your main settings. Most of the ROMS for the HTC Sensation still have the stock look but the difference is speed and a great overall user experience.

HTC Sensation User Review

The HTC Sensation 4G is T-Mobile new flagship dual core smartphone. It has an array of features and is a multimedia super phone.  I have the privilege to own one and I have to say its basically glued to my hand. With its dual core snapdragon 1.2 chipset  there isn’t much that I throw at it that it can’t handle. I consider myself to be an above average droid user and I have always wanted a device that truly lets the android operation system shine. This phone definitely does. For starters the 4.3 Q HD display is amazing. Its like holding a slab of HD tv right in your hand. The colors are brilliant everything is crisp and clear. I’ve always wanted a device that I could watch movies on and with this screen movies look great. The HTC sensation’s screen is made out of Gorilla Glass and is contoured. The screen actually sits about a millimeter into the phone. Most reviews I have personally read people say its cool but really don’t see the purpose. As a owner of the phone I can tell you that the reason is when you want to put your phone face down the screen will never really touch the surface. It comes in handy when using the “flip the phone over for speakphone”  function which is also quite convenient.

The UI or user interface is HTC’s new Sence 3.0. This is what I feel really makes the HTC Sensation Unique to other android devices. Its a great overlay to an already great android 2.3 gingerbread OS. My favorite feature has to be the weather. When using the weather unlock screen its really cool to unlock your phone and sort of feel the weather in your hand. If its raining rain drops come down on the screen and a little wiper pops up and clears the water off. The first time I discovered this I was out side in the rain and I really thought I had got my screen all wet until the wiper came down and washed away the rain.

My other favorite feature is the lock screen. You have a ring that you can pull away from the bottom to unlock the phone or you can drag any of the 4 customized apps into the ring to quick start them. This is very useful if you want to snap off a quick picture or maybe you live in the woods like me and you always need a handy flashlight on hand. Very cool.

Over all I have found this phone to be down right amazing. I will say there a few bugs (not going to be biased because I own it). The Wifi signal could be much better and there is an issue with covering the wifi antenna with your hand which causes signal drop in landscape view. Also known as deathgrip. I really would like to see companies like Gameloft and Glu support this phone with their HD games. As of now not all of them work with this phone. Like any new device with time more apps and games are sure to make to make their way to this phone of they aren’t already. Props to HTC for this phone.  It really is a joy to have.
